Sleep Book Info :)

For those of you wishing to try this sleep method (Hi Kelly!!!) and don't have kids that magically sleep through the night on their own!!!, the book is called The Sleep Easy Solution by Jennifer Waldburger and Jill Spivack. I don't know if your twins follow the same pattern every night, like they wake up every night at 12 and then again at 3 (or whatever). If they are then and they eat 4 oz at 12 and 2 oz at 3 for example, then to wean them off, the book says to wake them up an hour before they would wake up on their own so you aren't waiting til they cry to pick them up and feed which reinforces the crying. Your feeding schedule would look something like this:

Night #1
Bedtime 7:00 p.m.
1st feeding 11:00 p.m. (4 oz)
2nd feeding 2:00 a.m.(2 oz)
Wake up time: 6:00 a.m.

Night #2
Bedtime 7:00 p.m.
1st feeding 11:00 p.m. (3 oz, decreased by one ounce)
2nd feeding 2:00 a.m. (1 oz, decreased by one ounce)
Wake up time: 6:00 a.m.

Night #3
Bedtime 7:00 p.m.
1st feeding 11:00 p.m. (2 oz, decreased by one ounce)
2nd feeding is eliminated
Wake up time: 6:00 a.m.

Night #4
Bedtime 7:00 p.m.
1st feeding 11:00 p.m. (1 oz, decreased by one ounce)
Wake up time: 6:00 a.m.

Night #5
Bedtime 7:00 p.m.
1st feeding eliminated
Wake up time: 6:00 a.m.

The point is to stick to your schedule once established and not pick them up even if they cry (this is the hard part!!!). Also, it is difficult if they don't follow a consistent pattern. The book says to increase their feeding amount during the day to maintain weight and to compensate for weaning at night. It all sounds easy and says it can be done in 5 nights or less...we shall see!!!
