Night #3

Well I have to say this was the best night as far as crying goes! She couldn't even make it until 8 last night and went down at 7:30. I am not happy about this as I have stated before since I won't get home until 6:30 and would like to spend as much time as possible with her before she goes to bed. Still, if she can't stay awake past that time, then it is almost impossible for me to keep her up! She cried a little bit and went right to sleep.

I know the book I read stresses the fact that I need to be consistent with the night time feedings. It said to wake her up an hour before she usually wakes up and feed her. This way, I will beat her to the punch in a sense. Well she doesn't always wake up at the same time so this has been hard. Last night I woke her up at 10, she ate 2 ozs. I was hoping this would hold her over until I planned on getting back up at 3, but she ended up waking up at 12:15 and ate 4 ozs. I still woke her up at 3 and she ate 3 1/2 and slept until 6:30. The great thing about this was she only woke up once on her own.

I think tonight I will wake her up at 11 and 3. I am hoping that she won't wake up on her own at all and that these two times will hold her over food wise. If this works, then these are the 2 times I will pick to wean her off night feedings altogether. Either way, I can see that she is getting the sleeping on her own part down which is the most important and I am glad that we stuck to somewhat of a schedule the last 3 nights!

Also! For my free time last night, Matt and I played ping pong and I took a nice hot bath. This was my reward for my hard work throughout the day!

oh my goodness I am so confused. How do you wean her off? Slowly feed her less and less? Ahhh I feel like I am going to be waking up for the next 18 years!
