Growing fast

Well I survived my week alone! I miss my extra sleep!

Things are going well though. Kaitlyn has been sleeping in her bassinet (still in our room) for about 2 weeks now. We have the one with the side that drops and you can attach it to your bedside. This way I can still check on her without getting out of bed (haha I am lazy I know). At least she isn't sleeping in our bed anymore though, so we all get a more restful night without worrying we will roll on each other.

She is 6 weeks old today! She has been growing so much lately and I decided to clear out some of the clothes that don't fit her anymore. Although I am so happy she is healthy and growing, it made me a little sad to fold her tiny clothes that fit her when we brought her home and I couldn't believe she even fit into them. I know that a couple of months (or weeks) from now I will have to do the same with the clothes that fit her now. It was just a reality check for how quickly children grow up. I am so glad that while Matt's mom was here, we got impressions of her little hand and foot (yes, it took 2 of us!).

I have 4 more weeks until I go back to work (ugh). I am praying for a miracle that I can stay at home somehow. It breaks my heart into pieces knowing that I will have to leave her soon. I know that it can be done and kids survive without their mommies 24 hours a day...but if I could stay home, I feel I could be a better mommy and wife which is ultimately my wish and role in this life I lead. Although I enjoy my job, the auditing world will still turn without me and even if I succeed in the work world, who really cares once I am gone? I see that playing this role at home fulfills me much more. Hopefully one day it can come true :*)

Ah Salch, I am praying for a miracle for you that you can stay home with your baby! I'm glad you survived your first week alone with her :) Hopefully soon she'll start letting you get more and more sleep at night.

She is getting so big! I'm sorry that Disneyland was so busy :( I hope the little clothes that I bought for her are not going to be too small, they are 3 months. Hopefully we can get together soon. Sounds like you've got the mommie business down to a T :)
