More Pictures!

Hi!

I am actually out visiting family back here in Beaumont and I accidently left my car keys in Matt's car which he took back to San Diego (I'm so absent minded), but that is ok because I love being out here and staying with my mom. We were going to be back here for Thanksgiving anyways :)

Here are some pictures that were on my mom's camera :) They go all the way back to the hospital when Chloe was born.

Getting easier :)

Hello!

Things are a lot better since I last blogged. My mother-in-law and mother have both helped get things in order here :) Matt's mom came out several days over the last couple of weeks and she watched the girls and gave me tons of good organization ideas to meet my lack of storage problem. My mom also has come out and she let Matt and I go on our first date in 3 months!!! It was great! We went and had sushi down in the gaslamp district and walked around. Then she stayed while we went to the zoo and cleaned up for us and organized my hutch in my dining room! Thanks moms!!!! I would have gone crazy without your help!!

Matt is still doing well with his job. He starts flight data which is a step before he actually starts getting certified. Flight data is where he helps his team in making sure they are aware of all the flights scheduled.

K has adjusted much more too which is a big relief...I hate to see her having a hard time and it was difficult when she would act up because of the craziness! She is helping mommy with Chloe and she has started helping with chores and meals :) It is so cute!

C had her first appt 2 weeks ago with a wackadoo doctor down here where we live. The nurse had trouble with the scale but she told me she only weighed 7 lbs 8 oz which was her discharge weight. They also said she grew 2 inches which seemed a bit for only 2 weeks old. I changed her doctor and took her last thursday. She weighed 9 lbs 15 oz and according to their measurement had only grown 1/4 inch. I am so glad I changed doctors!!

Amidst the craziness we have managed to get out and do a lot of fun things! Last weekend we went to SeaWorld and then this Saturday we went to the zoo with some of Matt's co-workers.

Here are some pictures from our past weeks :)

She didnt like the shows too much! haha

Chloe Faith McGuire!!

Chloe was born on October 14th at 6:23 a.m.! She weighed 7 lbs, 14 1/2 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. My contractions began around 2:00 a.m. and began to intensify around 5:30 a.m. They weren't very consistent but they were getting terribly painful so we headed to the hospital and got there at 6. Much to my dismay, I was too late for an epidural and several terrifying screams later, Chloe was born at 6:23! OUCH! I do not promote natural childbirth in any way!! haha

Matt was due back on the 15th but a few days before this, his instructor worked it out so he could come home on the 14th in case I went into labor. Unfortunately, daddy missed her birth but at least he got to the hospital around 5 that evening and was able to stay with us :) It was soooooooooo wonderful to see him! Matt's mom took little Kaitlyn to go pick him up at the airport. She was holding the Welcome Home Daddy sign we made but when she saw him, she threw it down and went running into his arms and bear hugged him forever. She was daddy's girl before he left and is certainly back to being that!!

The following Sunday we headed down to our new place and Matt started his new job that Monday. I have to admit, these last few weeks have been very difficult. This is everything I asked for but it is hard to take on two children, one just born, and one who has her world turned upside down for the last few months, into an apartment filled with boxes that I cannot get to. I just take it one day at a time and luckily have been blessed with some help from Matt's mom in unpacking!

Each day I try to get the girls out to the lake and the playground. K loves to be outside and the weather has been nice! I will take some pics soon of our surroundings as it is quite pretty!

Matt is doing really well at his new job and seems to like it! I am glad he is doing good and hope to get this place organized for all our sakes!

In the meantime, here are some pictures of our new little one and her big sis!!! I will take more and post more when things calm down a little!!

Update

Hello everyone! I have been without fast internet for awhile so I have not even attempted to update my blog! I am still very prego and thought for sure by now I would have had Chloe! I had little K when I was 38 weeks and just believed I would have gone early. BUT! God's timing is perfect and I have to constantly remind myself that this is something I cannot have control over (which bugs me to no end!).

Our move was very smooth and successful! I have been staying at my mom's house since Oct 1st and am very much enjoying the time with her. We moved our stuff on the 3rd and when Matt comes home, we will head to San Diego this weekend. He starts work on Monday (10/19). HOPEFULLY I will have had Chloe by then...otherwise I will still be here :( I CANNOT wait to pick him up on Thursday :) :) :)

Well I gotta go, but I will try to update once I have her :) :) :)

Flood

*sigh* This is my one chance to just stop and breath! Things are moving so quickly and although things are falling into place with the packing, planning the move, counting down the days until I get to hold my hubby again, and getting ready for our new little one, all the while still trying to work another week and half, be a good mommy to my K, and all the other things that come along with life.

I just have such a flood of emotions! I am soooooooo grateful for all that God is doing and I have no complaints really. Matt's mom is out (yay!!!) and has already been a tremendous help. It is nice to have help with K's baths and dinners and cleaning and packing and the list goes on and on.

I had a hard night! While packing and everything, Matt's mom reminded me of packing my own bag for the hospital and that I needed to have Chloe's stuff ready. OH MY GOODNESS!! All this time I kept thinking, oh I have everything I need, but I didn't have anything picked out, washed, let alone ready to be packed for her. I felt like a failure as a mommy already! Ok, Shells, can't be too hard on myself, but still!!!!!! In the midst of everything, it is almost like I forget I am pregnant and about to welcome another blessing into this world. I went shopping tonight and picked out a little welcome home outfit for my new little girl and it felt so good to focus on her alone for at least a little bit of time. Am I ready for all of this?? I am praying it will be so!

I also miss Matt more and more lately. Although it is a probability that he will miss out on Chloe's birth and I have just accepted this, it was still hard while packing my hospital bag. I kept thinking, "gosh, why did I have so much to pack last time? oh ya, Matt was going with me." This brings tears to my eyes to face the reality he may not be back yet. I will miss his support and sharing the joy with him at first sight of little Chloe. He was so wonderful with little K while we were in the hospital and helped me so much and he even got to take a week off from work to be with me.

Please don't think I am complaining, just trying to work through this hit of emotion tonight. :)

Anyhow, here are a few pics from this last weekend. K had a Dr. appt on Friday and she got two suckers. Poor thing cried through her entire appt. I think she is feeling the stress from her momma and all the uncertainty is hitting her. Then she had to get shots on top of it. I am glad she got her two suckers :) She enjoyed them immensely!

I know this is kinda gross but it made me laugh so hard...

Matt's mom brought down a car load of much needed toys for the grandkids. One of K's favorites was this really cute catapillar chair and her Barney...she LOVES Barney and when Matt's mom brought this in, K was totally speechless. I even took her pacifier out and her mouth was still open. She didn't know what to do or to believe it was real. No joke! And then it started singing "I love you..." The two have been inseparable since.. lol.

We have a place to live!!!

Yay! Finding a place to live near Matt's new job was my last big thing I needed to accomplish...well besides having our baby, but I really don't have much control over that!

We just heard back today from the property management company that manages the condo we wanted. *sigh* what a relief! This one is on the first story (no stairs!!), has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and most importantly a washer and dryer hookup!!!! It even has a little backyard (when I say little, I mean it can fit her slide, her baby pool and even a small garden if I wanted :) I would like to clean it up a bit and maybe add some tall plants to make it look a little more inviting. At least it is somewhere the girls can play and I don't have to worry about anyone bothering them (I will still supervise, but the fence is high enough that they aren't going to be running off).

I also scored this kitchen table for 20 bucks on cragislist! whoo hoo! Thank you God! I am going to fix it up with some new paint and re-do the chairs once I am done being prego, but it will fit perfectly in our little dining room area! 20 bucks!?! I couldn't believe it!

I am so thankful to God and am just thrilled with how everything is turning out!

Here are some pics of my little K :)

This weekend was pretty good! We made two trips down to San Diego to look for housing. I found a couple places in a town east of San Diego that I liked. The first condo was SUPER nice and updated on the inside, had washer and dryer (which I am finding is very rare) and the right price, but you had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to it. Here is a picture (it is at the very top and to the left).

Ok, ok, I realize that I would be crazy to think that I can lug two children up and down 3 flights of stairs all the time (think about grocery shopping), but I cannot be too picky!! We did find another place that is only 1 flight of stairs, across from a lake/playground/community center/library and is the same price. I don't think it is as nice on the inside (have only seen pictures), but it seems more practical. The first condo has already approved us if we want it. I know I need to trust God and pray about it. I have called on the second one but haven't heard back yet.

Other than that, I decided I better start getting my baby stuff ready for little Chloe! I spent the day cleaning like a mad woman and washed and cleaned my infant carseat and bassinet. K was of course very interested in this and had a hard time accepting that she couldn't go in the bassinet. But I let her play on all the other things and she seemed happy to put her baby in the bassinet at least! She is such a cutie!

I saw this on Jessica's blog (a friend had made one for her) and thought I would give it a try. I had pictured it a little different in my mind but I like the end result ok. I think in the end, I just wanted to hurry up and be done! haha
